Practice nurses are available by appointment Monday to Friday. They can advise on travel immunisations, diet, smoking cessation, alcohol control and carry out general health checks and smears. They also run asthma, COPD and well woman clinics (for patients on contraception), HRT, general health checks, smears and ear syringing. They also monitor blood pressure and cholesterol.
Health Care Assistant

Health Care Assistants are there to assist the Doctors and Practice Nurses. They may see you before or after an appointment to take simple measurements, test your urine or blood, or help to gather information or fill in questionnaires and surveys. They also undertake ECGs, phlebotomy, blood pressure, height and weight, urinalysis, B12 injections, Influenza injections, pneumonia injections and chaperoning.
Community midwives work with the doctors to provide care for mothers before and after delivery. They also care of the baby for the first fortnight of life. When it is confirmed that you are pregnant, the Midwife can be contacted on: 01484 355731 or you can visit www.pregancynotes.com
Their prime responsibility is the health and welfare of children under five. They can advise about: feeding problems, behavioural problems, sleep problems, developmental problems and toilet training.
